Mayor & City Council

The governing body for the City of Oakridge is the City Council. The Council is composed of the Mayor and six City Council members elected from the city at-large. Four members of the Council shall constitute a quorum, which is required to conduct official city business.

Oakridge uses the “council-manager” form of government. The City Council members are unpaid volunteers who are responsible for all city policies, legislation, and the city budget. The City Council appoints a City Administrator, who is assigned responsibility for day-to-day operation of the city consistent with the policy direction set by the Council.

The City Council sets goals for the community and the city government to help direct the budget and work program for city staff. The Council also establishes policies that help guide decision-making. The Mayor also assigns Council members to sit on various city committees.

The Oakridge City Council meets on the first and third Thursday of each month, with the exception of designated holidays and/or council recesses. Meetings begin at 6:00pm and are open to the public. Council meetings are held at City Hall (48318 E. 1st Street) and are also streamed live on Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3664311610
